David has extensive educational and work background in the areas of biochemistry, lasers, microbiology, pharmacology, physical chemistry, medical science, optical assemblies, photonics, electronic devices, and mechanical components. His broad-based experience as a scientist helps him to readily grasp clients’ inventive concepts and prepare valuable patent application efficiently.

Ed Suominen is a retired employee of the Hoffman Law Firm who works with the firm on select matters related to the preparation and prosecution of patent applications. As a registered patent agent, Ed has the ability to write patent applications and advocate before the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office.

Ed has ten years of experience in electrical technology and engineering, in a wide variety of analog and digital electronic fields. He is proficient in numerous computer languages. Ed filed his first patent application on his own, before he was even registered to practice, and as a result obtained U.S. Patent 6,052,748. Ed’s research and development work on radio receivers resulted in several issued patents and pending applications and was the subject of a successful licensing program. 

In all, Ed is a named inventor on ten patents, with several others pending, and he has concluded successful patent-sales transactions. As an active inventor himself, Ed understands the needs, hopes, and aspirations of other inventors.
